Privacy Policy

We believe privacy is a right, not a feature. This policy explains plainly what we collect, why we collect it, and exactly what we do with it. We don't sell your data. Ever.

1. What We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide our service:

Photos you upload: The exterior photo of your home used to generate mockups
Quiz responses: Your style preferences, HOA status, timeline, and goals
Email address: To deliver your mockups and project updates
Payment information: Processed entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time on site — collected anonymously via analytics
Account information: Name and email if you create an account

2. How We Use Your Data

To generate your AI paint mockups and project deliverables
To deliver your completed package by email
To save your project so you can return to it
To send project updates, re-engagement mockups, and color trend content if you opted in
To improve our AI prompts and service quality using anonymized data
To connect you with local contractors if you requested this service

3. Your Photos

Your uploaded photos are stored securely in Supabase cloud storage. They are used exclusively for generating your HomePalette visualizations. They are never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose unrelated to your project.

Photos are retained for 12 months from your last account activity. You may request deletion at any time by emailing hello@home-palette.com.

We may use anonymized before/after mockup images for marketing. Your street address is never shown publicly. You may opt out of marketing use at any time.

4. Email Communications

By providing your email address you agree to receive:

Transactional emails — order confirmation, mockup delivery, project updates
Re-engagement emails — new mockup variations if your project is inactive for 60+ days

If you join our email list without purchasing, you consent to receive color inspiration content, neighborhood trend reports, and HomePalette updates. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. Transactional emails related to active orders cannot be unsubscribed from.

5. Third Party Services

HomePalette uses the following trusted third-party services:

OpenAI: Powers our AI image generation. Photos are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this processing.
Supabase: Stores your account data and uploaded photos securely.
Stripe: Processes payments. We never store payment card details.
Resend: Delivers transactional and marketing emails.
Vercel: Hosts our website and application.
Google Places API: Used to find local contractors in your area when requested.

We select partners who take data security seriously. We do not sell your data to any of these partners or any third party.

6. Contractor Connections

If you request a contractor connection, we share your project details — including your mockups, color selections, surface breakdown, and project timeline — with matched local professionals. Your full name, address, phone number, and email are shared only after you approve a specific contractor introduction inside our platform.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission, secure cloud storage, and access controls. However no system is completely secure. If you have security concerns please contact us immediately at hello@home-palette.com.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data and photos
Opt out of marketing communications at any time
Opt out of marketing use of your before/after images

9. Children's Privacy

HomePalette is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
